Truscott Inc., doing business as Truscott Insurance Solutions and Truscott Insurance ("Truscott," "we," "us," or "our"), is a licensed insurance producer that provides the Truscott mobile app, website, and related services (the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use our Services.
By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
We may collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, phone number, account details, insurance-related information, documents you upload, and any messages or requests you send to us.
We may also collect information automatically when you use the Services, such as your IP address, device type, operating system, app version, browser type, usage activity, crash data, and approximate location based on IP address.
We may receive information from third parties such as analytics providers, service vendors, support tools, and insurance-related partners if you request quotes, referrals, or related services.
If you request an insurance quote, we may collect additional information needed to obtain accurate rates, including driving history (such as traffic violations and license status), prior insurance details (such as carrier, coverage dates, and prior liability limits), vehicle information (such as VIN, make, model, year, and garaging address), property details for home insurance, and information you provide about additional drivers or household members to be covered by the policy.
If you submit information through one of our affiliated blog or informational websites, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, zip code, insurance type of interest, and referral information such as the page URL and campaign identifiers (e.g., UTM parameters).
If you submit feedback through the Services, we collect the feedback message, the page URL from which the feedback was sent, and any screenshot you choose to attach.
We use your information to:
We may share your information with service providers who help us operate the Services, including hosting, storage, analytics, communications, customer support, security, and document-processing vendors.
If you request insurance-related assistance, quotes, or referrals, we may share relevant information with licensed agents, agencies, brokers, carriers, rating service providers (which calculate premium estimates), and data lookup partners (such as vehicle, prior carrier, and address validation services) involved in fulfilling that request. This may include information about additional drivers or household members you provide as part of the request.
In connection with a quote request, an insurance carrier or rating system may perform an insurance credit inquiry or review public records and consumer reports (such as driving history, prior insurance, and claims or loss history) to generate accurate rates. These checks are governed by applicable law and the carrier's own privacy practices.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights or users, in connection with a merger or business transfer, or with your consent or direction.
Some parts of the Services send relevant document content, extracted text, or information you provide to Anthropic Claude. Google Gemini may also process this information, but only when Truscott's required commercial data-governance controls for that provider are enabled. These providers help organize, extract, summarize, or display information you provide. Truscott does not train a proprietary general-purpose AI model on customer documents, and we do not intentionally opt customer content into a provider's model-training or feedback program. Providers state that commercial API inputs and outputs are not used for model training by default, subject to their terms and any explicit opt-in or feedback submission.
Provider processing is not the same as zero data retention. Anthropic states that standard API inputs and outputs are deleted from its backend within 30 days, except where different terms apply or longer retention is needed for usage-policy enforcement or legal compliance. Google states that its paid Gemini API may log prompts and responses for a limited period for abuse monitoring; optional logging, caching, file, or stateful features can retain data for other periods. Truscott does not promise zero provider retention unless an applicable written agreement and configuration expressly provide it. Provider terms and settings may change.
Automated output may be incomplete or incorrect, so you should verify important statements in the original document and confirm policy and coverage decisions with your carrier or a licensed professional.
We may use cookies, SDKs, pixels, and similar technologies to operate the Services, understand usage, improve performance, and measure marketing effectiveness.
We use Google Analytics to understand how users interact with the Services. Google Analytics collects information such as how often you visit, which pages you view, and what actions you take. Google may use this data in accordance with its own privacy policy. You can opt out of analytics cookies through the cookie preferences banner on our website or by using Google's opt-out browser add-on.
We also use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with our website through session replay and heatmaps. Clarity captures behavioral data such as clicks, scrolls, mouse movements, and page navigation to help us improve the Services. Clarity masks sensitive content by default, and we additionally mask the quote, account, and policy areas so that personal information you enter or view is not captured in recordings. Microsoft may use this data in accordance with its own privacy policy. You can opt out through the cookie preferences banner on our website.
We also use advertising-measurement tools to understand whether our own ads work. These include the Nextdoor browser pixel and server-side Conversions API, the TikTok browser pixel, and Google Ads click measurement. After you accept analytics cookies, these tools may report site visits and conversion events (such as submitting a quote), along with ad-click identifiers and browser, device, and network details, to the applicable advertising provider. Nextdoor's server-side measurement may also receive hashed contact identifiers. These advertising-measurement tools stay off if you decline analytics cookies or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal.
We do not sell your personal information: we are not a lead-generation site, and no one pays us for your data. However, the advertising-measurement disclosures described above (to Nextdoor, TikTok, and Google) may qualify as "sharing" under the California Consumer Privacy Act. You can opt out at any time by declining analytics cookies in the cookie preferences banner or through the options on our Your Privacy Choices page. We also honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as a valid opt-out of sharing: when your browser sends GPC, these tools stay off in that browser even if you previously accepted analytics cookies.
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce our agreements.
A document submitted for an anonymous analysis preview, together with its extracted text and analysis, is stored temporarily so the preview can be claimed after account creation. If it is not claimed, it becomes eligible for scheduled deletion after seven days. A document claimed into an account follows the retention period for that account and applicable legal requirements.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information. You may also have the right to opt out of certain marketing communications or certain data-sharing practices.

You can opt out of promotional emails by using the unsubscribe link in those messages. You may still receive service-related communications.
If the app offers push notifications, you can manage them through your device settings.

We may retain certain information where required or permitted by law, including for security, fraud prevention, compliance, and recordkeeping purposes.
If you are a California resident, you may have additional privacy rights under California law, including rights to know, access, correct, delete, and opt out of certain data-sharing practices, subject to legal limits.

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate authorization. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy, to the extent permitted by law.
